The training needs of civil society organizations in Bulgaria are mostly of fundraising. This is revealed by a survey conducted by the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) with the participation of representatives of 93 organizations from all over the country. Other preferred topics for training refer to networking, project management, marketing, and online communications.

Trainings for enhancing their technological capacity, on working with a specialized software, maintenance of IT systems, and administering of websites are also of particular importance to NGOs.

The topics mostly preferred are shown on the graph below.

*The respondents gave more than one answer to the question about which topics they consider as useful to them.

The survey was conducted in the period 10-20 March 2017 with the participation of 93 NGO representatives of the targeted 100. With this survey WCIF aimed at identifying the technology provision for NGOs, community centers and public libraries in Bulgaria, as well as their technology needs. The survey results will be used to improve the services offered by TechSoup in Bulgaria – the only platform for technological donations in Bulgaria – administered by WCIF.

In April 2017, WCIF launches a series of training webinars. The first one will refer to the topic mostly preferred by civil society organizations - Fundraising for NGOs – and will present the ‘Donors’ Circle’ as a model for fundraising for NGOs. The second webinar will be on ‘Fake News’.
