The fund was created to support the children of journalist Milen Tsvetkov
The For the Children of Milen Fund, an individual donor-advised fund, was established at the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation. The fund will financially support the education and development of Boyan and Kalina, the children of Milen Tzvetkov. The founders of the fund are Genka Shikerova and Grozdan Karadzhov. The Fund is managed by a Fund Council, which includes colleagues and friends of Milen – Genka Shikerova, Nikolina Dimitrova, Kamen Vodenicharov and Georgi Toshev. Iliyana Nikolova is a representative of the Fund and a member of the Fund’s Council. Georgi Toshev was elected the chairman of the board. The Council of the Fund “For the Children of Milen” is a guarantor for the responsible and transparent spending of the collected funds. You can learn more about the Fund in its Rules and Regulations.
Milen Tsvetkov, a journalist with many years of experience, became an innocent victim of a car accident on Easter in 2020. Relatives and friends of Milen started a donation campaign for his children. The amount collected from donations is 191 323 leva. Our heartfelt thanks to every donor. Your help is important and valuable. It is an expression of sympathy for Milen’s children and appreciation for the journalist Milen Tsvetkov.
The Board of the Fund unanimously decided to use the collected funds for the children’s education. The children will receive monthly support until 31 December 2020, after which the Fund Council will meet again in January 2021, consider the children’s needs and decide how to continue their support. We have already paid the first monthly support of 1500 BGN.
