MIF Initiatives Fund
Stimulates the development of mathematics and informatics in Bulgaria

The MIF Initiatives Fund was established at the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation on 21 March 2018. The main goal of the Fund is to stimulate the development of mathematics and informatics in Bulgaria by creating opportunities to support the professional and scientific development of teachers, students, teachers, students and organizing scientific and educational initiatives.

Activities:

To achieve its objective, the Fund will:

  • Provide financial support to outstanding students and teachers of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University;
  • support with partial scholarships the students approved by the committee for nomination for study abroad under the mobility programmes of MIF and Sofia University (according to the established internal rules of the MIF committee);
  • carries out various programmes and initiatives aimed at raising the profile of the FMI and Sofia University. The following activities and initiatives have been undertaken by the MIF and Sofia University;
  • funds and organises educational programmes and initiatives for students, young scientists and pupils in the field of mathematics and informatics;
  • organise initiatives related to the career development of the MIF College (including students);
  • organise, fund and implement other activities related to the objectives of the fund;

Governance:

The founders of the Fund are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Parvan Parvanov, Dean of the FMI and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veselin Gushev, Deputy Dean for Educational Activities of the MIF. The Fund is managed by a Public Council, whose members by right are: the founders of the Fund, the Executive Director of the MIF – Iliyana Nikolova and Ralitsa Again-Guri, member of the Board of Trustees of the MIF.
