The initiative inspires students’ interest in science and technology in a fun and engaging way, stimulating innovation in learning and creating a platform for the exchange of good practice between their teachers. It is part of Science on Stage Europe, a European network of STEM educators whose main focus is sharing best teaching practices and creating a community of active teachers and science ambassadors.
In Bulgaria, the initiative is managed by the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation, together with the SAP Development Center in Bulgaria and the National Organising Committee (NOC) of the Bulgarian Science on Stage Festival.
The Science on Stage Festival is organised annually as part of the initiative and brings together students and teachers from all over the country. During the event, teachers from all stages of school education present projects demonstrating their experience and teaching approaches in teaching science – physics and astronomy, chemistry, biology, mathematics and information technology. The work of teachers and their students is evaluated by a special jury in several categories, and the best ones receive prizes.
