Supports socially significant projects
„You and Lidl for a better life“ is Lidl Bulgaria’s largest socially responsible initiative and is implemented in partnership with the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation and the Bulgarian Donors Forum. From 2017 to 2022, the initiative supports socially significant projects of NGOs across the country and helps people in different regions of the country to lead a better and more fulfilling life, investing in several areas over the years: education, environment, culture and historical heritage, and active lifestyle.
In the first five editions, the company funded 119 inspiring civic projects in the fields of education, environment, culture and historical heritage with a total fund of BGN 915 000. Their impact reached over half a million Bulgarians in 58 towns and villages across the country. Many of the funded projects continue to have a positive impact in their communities today, and the number of beneficiaries grows every day.
In 2023, the initiative transformed into „You and Lidl for our tomorrow“. The aim is to be synchronized with Lidl Bulgaria’s efforts in the field of sustainable development at global level, as well as to be adapted to the contemporary needs of our society. The Association of European Journalists – Bulgaria joins the initiative as a partner.
Since 2023, there is also an online platform, which hosts all the initiatives implemented since the beginning of the program.
