Iliyana has been part of WCIF since its establishment, working for the team of the Charity Know How programme for Bulgaria. She holds a master’s degree in history from Sofia University and a diploma in political management from New Bulgarian University. She was part of the Development School programme. She has been permanently involved in the civil sector since 1997, starting her work at the Union of Bulgarian Associations and Foundations. She is familiar with civil society organisations in Central and Eastern Europe and has worked for the British organisation Alavida in Romania. Iliyana is an ambassador for the European Pillar of Social Rights and the European Citizens’ Initiative, a member of the Council for the Development of Civil Society, and the recipient of the “Golden Apple” award from the National Network for Children.
