For Ali Fund, an individual donor-advised fund, was established at the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation. The fund will financially support the education and development of Alexandra Marinova (Ali) – the adopted daughter of Albena Ivaylova. The founders of the fund are Albena’s brother Chavdar Marinov and Nina Neykova. The fund will be managed by a Fund Council, which includes the two founders, as well as Albena’s friends and donors of the fund – Denitsa Sacheva, Iliana Tsanova, Krasimira Velichkova, Tsetska Karadzhova, Grozdan Karadzhov. The Council of the For Ali Fund is the guarantor of the responsible and transparent spending of the collected funds. Nina Neykova is the chairperson of the council. Albena Ivaylova, a journalist with many years of experience and a devoted mother, passed away last November after a complication of cancer. Albena’s relatives and friends have launched a donation campaign for Ali. So far 77 576,05 leva have been raised from individuals and legal entities.
The fund’s board unanimously decided to use the collected funds for Ali’s education. The way of distribution of the funds is currently being discussed.
