Since its inception, the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation has funded almost 2,500 projects of civic groups and organizations with BGN 15,000,000. The number of organizations funded by the Foundation is almost 2000.
The funding is awarded on a competitive basis. WCIF organizes separate calls for proposals with a fixed deadline for applications and funds ongoing projects on specific topics.
All open calls for proposals are published on the WCIF website.
Calls for proposals with fixed deadlines for applications are published at least one and a half months before the closing date. Information about the calls is also disseminated through numerous newsletters, publications in electronic media and specialized websites, direct mailing of information to former and current participants in WCIF programs, and also by e-mails to local authorities. WCIF does not fund organizations outside of the announced call for funding.
