Trainings

Since its establishment, the WCIF team has developed and conducted more than 500 trainings on various topics for more than 3,000 organizations across the country. This equates to over 12 000 training hours, with a total of 4 200 people that have been trained.

What training do we offer?

  1. On-demand training: structured to best suit the specific development needs of an organization. They can include the delivery of just one training or several over a period of time, as well as additional consultancy and support.
  2. Long-term training programs: aimed at individuals who wish to improve their competences in a particular field. They are structured in successive training modules, with the duration of the whole program between 3 and 12 months.

In all of our training courses, participants receive a set of printed materials with information on the training topic and a list of further reading. Along with this, at the end of the training, attendees are given a certificate of participation.

What are the types of training?

Training courses can be:

  • Individual – tailored to the personal needs and pace of development of the participant;
  • Group – providing an opportunity for collective learning and exchange of experience between participants.

Regardless of the format, our goal is to ensure maximum benefit and effectiveness for each participant.

Who can participate in the training?

The trainings are designed for representatives of civil society organizations, community organizations, non-profit legal entities, as well as for anyone who wishes to develop their competencies and skills in areas such as organizational development, fundraising and NGO communications.

Where does the training take place?

Depending on our clients’ wishes and capabilities, trainings can take place:

  • on-site at the organization for which the training is intended;
  • at or away from the location of the participants;
  • in the WCIF training room;
  • online via a dedicated platform.

Who delivers the training?

We have a team of practitioner trainers with years of experience in organizational and individual professional development. Their working style is practically oriented, aligned with new standards in your desired development areas.

The proposed topics and approach of work are the result of the long experience of WCIF in the field of adult education and organizational consulting.

Training methodology

The trainings take the form of presentations, information sessions, and lectures, each of which encourages participants involvement and participation.

Interactive methods are also used – case work, group discussions, role plays, small group work, including mentoring.

The most important characteristic of our methodology is that it enables what is learned to be immediately applied in a real environment.

  • Learning by doing

The trainings we offer are built according to the four main phases of the “Cycle of Learning” as defined by David Kolb:

By linking practicing and learning, we give participants the opportunity to test a principle (assumption) they have formulated by applying it to a specific practical situation during the training. Together with this, they draw conclusions and formulate assumptions based on experiences and lessons learned during the training.

  • Learning from experience

We believe that an important prerequisite for effective learning is reflecting on past experiences. In this regard, priority during training is given to the utilization of participants’ experiences in the context of the new concepts, theories and approaches presented. In this way, training participants are placed in a situation where they can build on existing knowledge and skills.

Individual approach
Every training and consultation we develop and deliver is tailored to the specific needs of each client. The content and method of the trainings and consultations we offer are updated according to modern global trends in adult education on the one hand and specific local requirements on the other.
