IRIS Program

IRIS Program
Supports projects of civil society organizations

Supporting families affected by COVID-19, ensuring their basic needs are met, and reducing the risk of separation between children and parents are among the main priorities of the Iris program. The program will finance civil initiatives (of community centers, non-profit organizations, initiative groups), with a maximum grant of BGN 20 000 per project. There is no deadline for applying for funding, funds will be distributed every 10 days until the available financial resources are exhausted.

All conditions for funding can be found at Application guidelines .  The documents that an organization needs to complete to apply for support are: the Application Form, as well as the Questionnaire, Budget and Declaration, which can be found on the top right of this page. In order to be able to fill in the documents correctly in PDF format, it is necessary to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. If you don’t have one – a free version is available and anyone can download it.

Important! All projects must have been completed by 30 July 2021, this deadline does not include the project report.

IRIS program was initiated by Bulgarian Donors ForumNational Network for Children and Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation. It is managed by Workshop for Civic Initiatives and the main donor is the Tanya’s Dream Fund. It catalyzes the efforts of its partners in Bulgaria to build a society where every child grows up in a family and the next generations do not remember the homes for children without parental care.

Thanks to the Tanya’s Dream Fund, the Iris Program will provide financial resources worth 620,000 leva as emergency aid for actions that will strengthen vulnerable families in a pandemic and economic crisis. The program is open to additional donations from private donors. Among the first donors is the Open Society Institute Foundation.

Donations can be made by sending DMS IRIS to the short number 17777, by Platformata.bg or directly to the WCIF bank account:
