Nearly 500,000 People Will Benefit from INSPIRE Funded Projects

Nearly half a million people in 150 locations across the country will be covered by the activities of the 46 projects funded by the INSPIRE Fund. All of them are aimed at preventing and combating violence against and between children, and empowering victims of violence.

33 of the supported projects will be implemented at the local level and 13 at the national level, each addressing different forms of violence. The projects will engage a wide range of target groups from children, students, parents, extended families, to health professionals and educators, to representatives of various local and national institutions. Planned activities include trainings, conferences, art and sports activities, as well as the development and implementation of innovative models to address violence against children.

The organizations that will implement the projects will receive targeted grant funding of over €1.6 million. In addition, they will have access to specialized training to increase their capacity to effectively tackle violence against children.

The funding is provided by the INSPIRE Fund, which aims to empower civil society organizations working to prevent and combat violence against children in Bulgaria.

The INSPIRE Fund is part of the INSPIRE project: Improving national support for prevention, intervention and response to violence against children and empowering victims.

The project is implemented by the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCFI) and the National Network for Children (NNC). The project’s duration is three years, during which time WCIF is responsible for providing funding for the projects and NNC is responsible for building the capacity of the organizations.

The INSPIRE project is co-funded by the European Union.
