There are teachers who teach lessons. There are also teachers who change directions.
We are looking for the latter.
On April 3, 2026, the new competition under the Robotics for Bulgaria program will be launched – an initiative that has been turning classrooms into laboratories for ideas and students into creators of solutions for the real world for 11 years. This is your chance to go beyond the textbook and lead your students towards science, technology, teamwork, and leadership.
If you believe that learning should be an experience and you want your students to think, create, and believe in themselves, then this program is for you.
We are looking for teachers from state, municipal and private schools who teach students from 5. to 10. grade and are ready to take on the role of mentors.
The application is in a team of two people from the same school – with a desire to learn, experiment and inspire.
It doesn’t matter what the teachers teach, what matters is their motivation.
Approved applicants will receive full support for the creation of a school robotics team. This includes introductory online training for teachers, 6 months of online programming and construction support with LEGO SPIKE Prime, as well as equipment for a school team – a robot and a racing field.
The most exciting part is the competitions. The approved teams will participate in the regional robotics competitions, which will be held in May in four Bulgarian cities.
During the regional competitions, new teams will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from the more experienced teams that are part of the program.
The best performers during the year get a chance to participate in the national competition “Robotics for Bulgaria”, which annually gathers about 200 students from all over the country.

Robotics for Bulgaria Program
The program supports motivated teachers to create and develop robotics teams in their schools. It provides the necessary equipment, training for teachers and the opportunity for students to participate in robotics competitions.
Its main goal is to stimulate students’ interest in science and technology, targeting young people between the ages of 10 and 16, as well as their teachers.
The “Robotics for Bulgaria” program is an idea and initiative of the SAP Development Center in Bulgaria and is implemented in partnership with the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation.
The program was launched in 2015 and has achieved significant reach so far. More than 70 school robotics teams have been supported, in which nearly 2900 students aged 10 to 16 and more than 260 teachers have participated. All of them are from 120 schools in 57 different settlements throughout the country.
