The “Parenting 2.0, More Than Care” program opens two new competitions for initiatives aimed at preventing the separation between children and parents. Both civil society organizations and informal parent groups can apply for them.
Until May 4, interested organizations and parent communities can submit project proposals aimed at supporting families at risk and strengthening the bond between children and parents. The main objective of the competitions is to promote sustainable solutions at local and national level that reduce the risk of institutionalization and support families in difficult life situations.
Initiatives should be aimed at parents and children in difficulty – parents of children with disabilities, parents with disabilities, single parents, large families, families living in poverty, representatives of ethnic minorities, as well as survivors of violence.
Competition for civil society organizations – with the possibility of local and national projects
The competition is open to non-profit legal entities registered under the Non-Profit Legal Entities Act and the Community Centers Act.
Two types of funding are envisaged – for local projects – with a maximum amount of funding of up to EUR 15,000 and for national projects – with a maximum amount of funding of up to EUR 30,000. The duration of projects, regardless of the type of funding, can be between 12 and 24 months.
Local initiatives should address specific challenges at community level – the risk of separation of children from their families, lack of support for parents, discrimination or limited access to services. Organizations are expected to work actively at the level of a neighborhood, settlement or municipality.
National projects should address problems of vulnerable children and families identified in national strategies and programs. Among
The priority groups are parents of children with disabilities, single parents, families living in poverty or at risk of social exclusion. Initiatives aimed at specialists and institutions in the fields of education, health care and social support are also eligible.

Competition for informal parent groups
The second option is aimed at informal parenting groups involving at least five people, the majority of whom must be parents. The duration of projects can be between 10 and 24 months, and the maximum amount of funding is up to €10,000.
Support will be provided to activities that help families overcome crises and reduce the risk of separation. This may include self-help groups, trainings, advocacy initiatives, improving interaction with institutions, as well as mobilizing support from the local community.
The involvement of parents with personal experience with the child protection system is especially encouraged, as their practical experience is key to creating working solutions for other families.

The “Parenthood 2.0, More than Care” program is implemented by the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation with the support of the “Tanya’s Dream” Fund.
Its main goal is to establish parents as an active and sustainable force for raising children in a family environment.
