There is a moment that every teacher knows – when you see that the lesson has “passed”, but it has not reached. That the students remembered, but did not understand. That they can repeat, but not create.
And that’s where the opportunity to change that comes in.
The Robotics for Bulgaria program is looking for teachers who want more than just “cover the material”. Teachers who want to arouse curiosity, give meaning to knowledge and bring that flame back to the classroom – both for the students and for themselves.
1. When motivation in class is low
If you feel that engagement is declining and students have a hard time seeing meaning in what they are learning – robotics is a game-changer. There is no passive listening in the school robotics team. There is thinking, trials, mistakes, successes. Students start participating because they want to, not because they have to.
2. When you lack the time and resources to do “more”
Many teachers want to introduce practice and projects, but reality stops them. In the “Robotics for Bulgaria” program, you do not start from scratch – you receive training, equipment and long-term support. Instead of inventing everything yourself, you step on a working model.
3. When you wonder if your efforts are making a real difference
Here the results are visible. In teamwork. In the solutions that students create. In the confidence they build. And competitions give that moment of recognition – not only for them, but also for you as their mentor.
The program is open to teachers from 5. to 10. grade – regardless of the subject in which they teach. What is sought is not the “perfect profile”, but a desire to try something different and lead your students there.

Robotics for Bulgaria Program
The program supports motivated teachers to create and develop robotics teams in their schools. It provides the necessary equipment, training for teachers and the opportunity for students to participate in robotics competitions.
Its main goal is to stimulate students’ interest in science and technology, targeting young people between the ages of 10 and 16, as well as their teachers.
The “Robotics for Bulgaria” program is an idea and initiative of the SAP Development Center in Bulgaria and is implemented in partnership with the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation.
The program was launched in 2015 and has achieved significant reach so far. More than 70 school robotics teams have been supported, in which nearly 2900 students aged 10 to 16 and more than 260 teachers have participated. All of them are from 120 schools in 57 different settlements throughout the country.
