A total of 135 concepts were submitted in the first stage of the competition under the Code Success Fund, which ended on April 20, 2026 at 17:00.
A total of 27 concepts were submitted by organizations based in villages from different regions of the country. 22 applications were received from the capital Sofia, followed by Burgas with 8 proposals, as well as Varna and Plovdiv with 7 proposals each.
The largest number of proposals were received under the thematic priority “Diversity and Equality” – 71 concepts, followed by “Democracy” with 41 concepts and “EU Rights” with 23 concepts.
The organizations whose concepts are approved will move on to the second stage of the competition – the development of a complete project proposal with a deadline of August 3, 2026 (17:00).
The Fund also provides activities to increase the capacity of candidates. Organizations with approved concepts will have access to training and mentoring support in the development of a full project proposal.
The Code Success Fund aims to support the development of active and sustainable local communities by promoting civil society organizations in promoting democratic values, protecting human rights and social inclusion.
The maximum grant amount per initiative is up to €15,000, with no co-financing requirement. The total budget of the fund amounts to €450,000, and around 30 projects with a duration of between 12 and 18 months are expected to be supported.
The Code Success Fund is managed by the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation and is part of the PACT project. The project is implemented with financial support from the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme in the amount of EUR 4,264,112.97, representing 90% of its budget. The funding institution is the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), according to its delegated powers by the European Commission.
The project is implemented by a consortium including: Open Society Institute – Sofia Foundation, Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation and The European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) – International Non-Governmental Association “European Citizen Action Service”.
