Over 150 students from all over the country will participate in the Robotics Festival 2026

Over 150 students from 33 teams will compete in the final edition of the “Robotics for Bulgaria” program, which will be held at the end of June in Sofia.

The national final will bring together students from 21 schools and educational institutions in 17 settlements – from Sofia, Varna and Burgas to Dolna Banya, Lom, Harmanli and Zlatograd.

The geography of the finalists shows that the talent has no address. Thanks to the program, children from different parts of the country get access to quality education and the opportunity to develop skills that will be key to the professions of the future.

At the final competition, participants will compete in different competitive categories, demonstrating knowledge, technical skills, creativity and teamwork.

The ranking for the final was determined after the four regional competitions of the program, which were held in May in Vidin, Varna, Plovdiv and Sofia. A total of more than 350 students from 38 schools and 24 settlements in the country took part in them.

During the regional competitions, young researchers presented research projects, constructed and programmed robots and solved practical problems, demonstrating the skills acquired during the school year. Competitions are a key element of the program, as they enable students to apply their knowledge in a real-world environment, develop confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

The national final will bring together the best teams from the country and will mark the culmination of another successful year for “Robotics for Bulgaria”. In addition to the opportunity to compete, the event is a celebration of curiosity, engineering thinking and the aspiration of young people to be creators of the technologies of the future.

The Robotics for Bulgaria program supports motivated teachers to create and develop robotics teams in their schools. It provides the necessary equipment, training for teachers and the opportunity for students to participate in robotics competitions.

Its main goal is to stimulate students’ interest in science and technology, targeting young people between the ages of 10 and 16, as well as their teachers.

The “Robotics for Bulgaria” program is an idea and initiative of the SAP Development Center in Bulgaria and is implemented in partnership with the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation.

The program was launched in 2015 and has achieved significant scope so far. More than 70 school robotics teams have been supported, in which nearly 2900 students aged 10 to 16 and more than 260 teachers have participated. All of them are from 120 schools in 57 different settlements throughout the country.
